Plot[]
The episode sees Bumpy being abruptly left at Marietta's house for the day, and after Marietta goes on a short rant to him, he starts believing that she is out to kill him. Throughout the episode, Bumpy is both spurred on and consoled by his inner devil (who tries to convince Bumpy that Marietta is going to kill him) and the inner angel (who believes Marietta will not harm Bumpy) respectively, leading Bumpy to go from refusing to eat the food he believes is poisoned to outright trying (and failing quite miserably) to kill Marietta before she does him, which results in Bumpy being knocked out and taking an imaginary journey to hell and back.
After Bumpy wakes up from his imaginary journey to hell by Mac and Marietta, the episode ends with Bumpy rejecting his inner demon and his angel giving him a halo on top of his head.
Banning[]
The episode garnered a significant amount of complaints due to the nature of the episode and, as such, was pulled from being aired in the U.S. indefinitely, though it continued airing infrequently in a number of other countries, sometimes in its original dub.
Availability[]
In the decade following, several foreign rips of the episode began appearing online, though the English audio remained totally unaccounted for until November 19th, 2013, when a low-quality VHS rip of the original English dub was uploaded, cited as being sourced from Silly TV circa 1999.
Since that upload, multiple users spliced the English audio with the German rip's higher quality video and, ultimately, a version of the short with high-quality English audio was uploaded to YouTube.
Trivia[]
- The episode was originally seen as a segment on Bumpy in the Night.
